Kids & YA

The Harry Potter series, Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Hobbit, The Outsiders - some of the greatest books I've ever read were written for children and teens. Many of my favorite books were those I shared with my son as he was growing up.

I'm forever on the search for fabulous children's literature! Remember opening to the first page of the second Harry Potter book? I couldn't wait to dive in, get lost, and explore his magical world, his trials and tribulations. I crave that feeling, so I'm always looking for the next great adventurous, coming-of-age story.

Upcoming Kids Book Reviews:

The Templeton Twins Have An Idea
by Ellis Weiser
Release: August 15, 2012
Publisher: Chronicle Books
Genre: Children's, Ages 9 - 13

Suppose there were 12-year-old twins, a boy and girl named John and Abigail Templeton. Now suppose their father was a brilliant, if sometimes confused, inventor. And suppose that another set of twins—adults—kidnapped the Templeton twins and their ridiculous dog in order to get their father to turn over one of his genius (sort of) inventions. Wouldn't it be fun to read about that? Luckily for you, this is just the first in a series perfect for boys and girls who are smart, clever, and funny (just like the twins), and enjoy reading adventurous stories (who doesn't?!).
